Álvaro Leite, Oporto, Portugal, 2005
The Fez house, authored by Álvaro Leite Siza Vieira is located in the Fez street, south of the Garcia Orta School, in Oporto. It´s a building with a reinforced concrete structure with a large longitudinal development without joints.
This project is divided into three parts: studio, near the street, service area in the center and the house at the other extreme, which communicates with the garden.
The structural design is based, in most of the buildings, in the adoption of reinforcedconcrete walls and slabs, which together provide great structural strength, including strain horizontal actions. The foundation of the building is generally slab-on-grade foundation.
