There are parts of this project four different zones of structural intervention, which we describe according to the description of the project: Labs Zone: There is already a slab with a span of stairs, supported inferiorly in a wall. It’s necessary in this face demolish this wall and close the stairs span, consequently was calculated the verification of the thickness and the quantification of the steel in the existing slab, It was verified that was sufficient.
New lift and attached cellars: a slab over the digging area has been planned, dimensioned and executed, so that they lean on the stone walls of the existing buildings surrounding of the dig areas ….so that the excavation could be executed without problem as long as the foundations of the building are implemented in a deeper depth than the predicted excavation.
The New walls of the excavated rooms will not support relevant´s vertical or horizontal loads, The box for the elevator already exists in the original brick building, and also enhanced the inferior with a concrete wall with a 15 m thick, in the same spirit to enhance the original structure, giving it greater ductility.
File Cold Room: it was predicted a metallic structure, consisting of a platform, supported by HEB beams which support masonry walls.
The support areas of the masonry walls are reinforced with reinforced concrete as is shown in the drawings. The refrigerator box is directly supported in the metallic structure.
Other Files Rooms: the floors of these rooms exist and are in reinforced concrete. In the larger room, given the high overload involved strengthening was predicted. To this end two slots are opened in the existing slab so that there can be introduced that further metallic sections to transform the slab into slab. With this solution the creation of larger for greater efforts on the underlying arcs avoided.
